2009 REAL Sibert Award Winners

The winners of several youth media awards were announced this morning at the ALA Midwinter Meeting in Denver. A press release announcing all of the winners will be available in the Youth Media Awards Press Kit at http://www.ala.org/yma later this morning.

Of course, on this blog, we're most excited about those honored with the Sibert Award for informational books, so here they are:

ACPL Mock Sibert Award Winner and Honor Books



Yesterday afternoon a group of seven dedicated children's book readers gathered to discuss a long list of children's informational titles published in 2008. We learned a lot from each other and from our discussion about authority, documentation, organization, clarity, presentation style and more! In the end, we selected our Mock Sibert Award winner and three honor books.
