It's still very early in the year, but I have to say that for now Kakapo Rescue tops my list for the Mock Sibert.

The writing is engaging and personal. The photographs are stunning. The organization and design make the book a great overall package. Most importantly, the book made me fall in love with the kakapo, and the people who are working so hard to save them.

I would agree, Mandy! This book brought the story of the kakapo and the people who are trying to save them to a very real and personal level. And, as always with Nic Bishop's work, the photos were just amazing.

After finishing the book, I visited the kakapo recovery website mentioned in the afterward to see what has happened since the publication of this book. It's a wonderful extension!
