This book was suggested via email by Sara, who had this to say about it:

"When reading this book to my children (3 and 4 years) I was impressed by the combination of physical ques,("put your hand on your heart") sunny artwork, and open language to describe scientific principles of photosynthesis to young children. I found the book fun, inspiring, and written in a unique voice that truly spoke to children. The most distinguishing feature was the inclusion of the author asking children to physically become involved in the story to bring the concepts to their level, combined with the gradual introduction to the complexity of concepts of energy, light, and plants throughout the book."

Complex ideas explained so that younger people can understand it and even experience it! Very lyrical for nonfiction. Beautiful.
