Welcome to the ACPL Mock Sibert blog!
We're excited about all the new informational books for kids that will be published in 2011 and we look foward to highlighting some of the best here. We hope you'll join the discussion by leaving comments on the titles we post. If you'd like to suggest a title for our list, simply leave a comment or send us an email.
In January of 2012, we'll get together in person to talk about our favorites and vote for our Mock Sibert Award winners. Watch for details to be published later this year.

I enjoyed the illustrations in this book and appreciated that the author used quotes from E. Roosevelt on every page. The book was delightful and a joy to read as a woman.
I also enjoyed the quotes, but I was disappointed that there weren't any source notes given for them.
I appreciated that the book really focused on Eleanor's life throughout (instead of veering off to talk about FDR).
While I generally found this book quite wonderful, I was very concerned about 1919 listed as the year that World War I ended. Although the Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919, November 11, 1918 is commonly accepted as the date of the end of WWI.
