I am not sure if this is a concern for you or not -- but The Great Adventure: Theodore Roosevelt and the Rise of Modern America was published in 2007 -- and was considered by the 2008 Sibert Committee. Therefore it will not be eligible to win the 2009 Sibert Award. Still -- its a good read -- and a good book to discuss.

Good to know. I knew The Great Adventure was published in 2007, but I thought it might have been late enough in the year that it wasn't considered for the award.
Thanks for the information, Viki.
I should have checked this sooner. Oh well. I haven't finished, because I keep thinking it might be geared to a reader older than 14.
